    Hi,
Not so sure if that fits int MyEclipse directions. I see a certain push towards RCP applications. Would that be an idea for a new product? MyEclipse RCP Edition?

    stw,
We are avid supporters of “good ideas” around here, so if at some point this becomes a “good idea” for Genuitec to persue, we will!

    +1 for RCP support

RCP support would be great, but you really have to define what that support is. MyEclipse is an add-on to Eclipse, not a replacement. Eclipse already has the PDE and plenty of stuff regarding RCP. Afterall, even Eclipse itself is really just an RCP app.

Frankly I don’t think there’s much that MyEclipse could add. PDE and RCP problems are, IMHO, most about distribution and branding.

    Hi James,
you are absolutly right. Myeclipse starts where Eclipse left off. RCP should be the same way. So I would guess some wizzards would do for the beginning:

    1) A RCP project wizzard (a more sophisticated one compared to Eclipse)
    2) A RCP data wizzard to create basic MVC in the RCP (kind of the local equivalent of Struts and hibernate)
    3) Distribution wizzard: ready a RCP for full (incl. RCP) or partial distribution
    4) Perspective wizzard
    ….
more ideas come with more experience
