Michael SchulzMemberNot sure where to post this…so I’ll put it here…
From the http://www.myeclipseide.com home page (http://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php), there is a section named:
Maintainance release now available for download
and one of the links in this section is titled “Release notes for 2.7.1 are available here“.
BUT…when I click on this link, the title of the next page is:
Release 2.8.0 Beta-1 – Visual HTML Designer (WYSIWYG), HTML Tidy integration, enhanced CSS and new JavaScript editors, Struts Modeler, JSF project support, Sun Java System application server connector and dependent project deployment for Eclipse 2.1.x (5/18/2004)
So the link does not appear to show the correct (v2.7.1) release notes page. Now that we are on the subject of v2.8.0…
I don’t see 2.8.0 beta1 listed in the downloads area (yet?).
Any idea when 2.8.0 beta1 will actually be available?
Any idea if 2.8.0 will actually support the more flexible project structure that has been discussed in the forums for the last few months?
Thanks,
-Mike
Riyad KallaMemberMike,
The release notes are kind of contiguous, if you scroll down you will see the 2.7.1 release notes/bugfixes.Beta1 should be out “very soon” probably today or something to that effect. Don’t quote me though.
And yes, one of the *biggest* focuses of the 2.8 release was the more flexible project structure. This is our first pass at it and it will continue to get more and more flexible in future releases. Please give us feedback on what you find in the beta, do you like it, hate it, what are we missing, etc.
Michael SchulzMemberRiyad, thanks for the reply — I do see the 2.7.1 release notes below the 2.8.0 beta1 release notes. And I’m eagerly looking forward to the 2.8 release!
