I’m trying to create an ER diagram from an existing schema. It is hanging, I think, on a table with about 85,000,000 rows. Is it just going to take a looooong time? Why should the number of rows affect the ability to retrieve table metadata?

    Thanks,
    Bernie

    Bernie,

I don’t sure that number of rows is problem, maybe if your schema is big (a lot tables, relations ..).What is your database and have you any log (Windows-preference-Show view-other-PDE runtime-Error log)

    Bernie,

The data in your tables does not affect the ERD creation process, only the schema itself. Is there something “special” about this table on which the ERD creation is hanging? Can you paste the schema for that particular table here?
How many tables do you have in this schema, like snpe asked – is it a very large schema with many relationships?

Also, please answer all the questions here: Posting Guidelines

    Best,
    Brian.
