robert65MemberHi Wayne and Octavio can you give a time line on the following :
1) Blackberry integration
2) Push Notifications
3) Advertising
4) Map availability
5) Share facility e.g facebook, Twitter
6) the facility to return from an email page back to your app
support-michaelKeymasterWhat we can comment on now are:
#4 – will be available in 2.1 production
#5 – we are coming up to speed with what iOS6 will introduce. So can’t say atm
#1 – no idea, if we wait a little longer RIM will not be on anyone’s radar (pessimistice me)
The other features are on our todo list along with many others. So let me ask you this question, since we will probably not be able to address all of these features in 1 release cycle can you specify their relative priority?
robert65MemberWayne thanks again for the response, my reply is in two parts, the first is that most people have the basic skills to produce an app and send it to google or Apple, my free app has now been downloaded by 200 + but i believe the essentials now for
communicating with the users is 1) push notifications
2) the option to return back to the app after sending an email
3) social media interactionso really taking Blacberry out of the equation option 1 and 2 far outweigh everything else as people will still sign in to twitter and facebook from their phone or PC.
on a seperate note i sent a thread asking if third party notifications (pusher) was a possibility however the cost is very expensive, most other app developers offer a push service to their app, this would be woth paying some kind of set up fee or by the number of notifications sent, can you give me your thoughts.
robert65MemberHi Mobione team, as you will see time passes by very quickly, back in January 2012 I asked 6 questions and you asked what is most important, well today nearly 22 months later its still the same, with the release of milestone 3 can you confirm if a facilty to offer push notifications will happen anytime soon.thanks
support-michaelKeymaster> if a facilty to offer push notifications will happen anytime soon
Push notifications have been deferred into 2014 due to major infrastructure changes required to support this service. As an alternative we are looking into providing a more open build system that will enable developers to integrate with 3rd party services. We have been researching the later as it has a broader benefit. Will share more as we make progress.
