Every once in a while I wish for a scratch pad type feature that would allow me to run arbitrary snippets of Java code to test something out without requiring me to create a throw away class just to wrap the code in main. I was sure Eclipse had this feature. Perhaps I am thinking of VisualAge.

Does this feature currently exist in Eclipse or MyEclipse? Anybody know of a plug-in that does this?

If something like this does not exist, would you guys like to add it?

    It’s definately already included. It’s called a “Scrapbook Page” and you can create one under File > New… > Other… > Java > Java / Debug > Scrapbook Page…

Don’t know how you could’ve missed it. 😉

I can believe it. I miss the obvious and focus on the obscure!!

    Thanks!
