I have a local Glassfish server being controlled by MyEclipse.
I have a J2EE application deployed to it.

When I am at work, with a fast internet connection, the server starts up quickly.
However, when I am at home, not having a fast internet connection, the server starts slowly.

Why does the connection speed matter?

Internet speed doesn’t influence the speed of GlassFish server. Try doing this – configure Glassfish outside of MyEclipse and check the speed.
