I searched these forums as well as Google and didn’t see any reference to my question. I’m looking into the possibility of installing Eclipse and MyEclipse in one location (a network share) so all of our developers can use that setup. I know it’s possible to do this type of setup with Eclipse, but is it possible with MyEclipse?
Okay. Would it be possible to install Eclipse in one location but have each developer locally install MyEclipse?
Well, prior to me posting my second question, there was a response from support-nipun stating something like “That’s not possible with MyEclipse. Sorry about that.” But now it disappeared. Lovely.
What if you just tried it? All developers would need their own licence ofcourse, and settings are stored (depending on the type of setting) either per user or per project, so the only impossibility would be 2 or more developers working in the same workspace.
The network mappings/access would have to be equal for all involved, but that should be no problem.HTH
