FumioUedaParticipantHi,
When I want to make version up of my_app that is working well on M1 2.6.3,
I want backup my project that includes my_app-startup folder and non startup files folders.
And Then, I want to change some parts of mobi file etc. in the copied project as to develop new version my_app.In this case, I think, my_app name should be changed to new_my_app, because original name folder and files are on the same directory MobiOne_files/www.
What is the smart way to copy/rename a project ?
Thank you for your comment in advance,
ueda
support-octavioMemberHi ueda,
As you said you could copy to a new folder with new root dir name and not modify name of mobione startup design file.
/myproject myproject.mobi /www
copy /myproject to /myproject-x.y and work in that new directory.
FumioUedaParticipantHi Octavio,
Thank you for your quick response.
< copy /myproject to /myproject-x.y and work in that new directory. >I succeeded to make /myproject-x.y directorys.
and I copied both app.mobi and app.startup.mobi there. Now I am challenging of some varieties of possibility.
Especially for ** custom.js file.Thank you for your comment,
ueda
FumioUedaParticipantHi Octavio,
I understand that typical folder structure of m1 project is like shown below.
/myproject /www /myapp /myappstartup myapp.mobi myapp-startup.mobi
By this project structure, I could run myapp-startup.mobi, next myapp.mobi run automatically.
But , I found that [Additional project files] of the properties in Design Center should enter nothing.
Is that right manner of M1?
In a case of entering myapp.mobi as the additional properties of myapp-startup.mobi, when I run myapp-startup.mobi, Design Center stopped/disappeared from PC screen.
Thank you for your comment in advance,
ueda
Code_AMemberMaybe I am confused and this will not be helpful, but why not just literally copy the entire project directory and rename it to the next version (or archive the old version afterwards) as Octavio suggested? This way everything stays in tact with your project files.
FumioUedaParticipantHi Code A,
Thanks for your comment.
<—, but why not just literally copy the entire project directory and rename it —>I am newbie at project management of M1.
So, I would like to know how to copy/rename a project of M1 concretely.Could you explain me your procedure of copying a M1-project concretely?
Example for Explorer; How to copy projects http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/879x19d1(v=vs.90).aspx
Thanks,
ueda
Code_AMemberSimply copy your project folder that contains all your m1 project files (i.e., .mobi files and the subdirectories) and paste it. Your .mobi project files are all pathed relative to their location, so as long as you keep the folder structure and all the files in tact during the copy then your project will load without any issues.
FumioUedaParticipantHi Code A,
Thank you for your comment.
I became able to copy M1 project well.My concrete procedure of the project copy is like this;
1. make new-myproject directory on File Explorer of M1.
2. copy the all mobi files and the sub directories in the Original project at once.
3. paste it to the new-myproject directory. You guys comments were very useful information for me.
( The answer against main part of my question was obtained.
So please close this topic. )Thanks a lot,
