    I recently upgraded to ver 8.5, and ever since doing so the splash screen will not display on startup. Any ideas why? Here is my config.ini and myeclipse.ini, and I also tried adding the “-showsplash” to my startup command. But still no splash screen. The .bmp file does exist as shown in the paths below.

    config.ini

    mdmaurer,
    Can you change the values for spalshLocation and splashPath to those given below
    osgi.splashLocation=C\:\\Program Files\\Genuitec\\Common\\plugins\\com.genuitec.myeclipse.product85_8.5.0.me201003250242\\splash.bmp
    osgi.splashPath=platform\:/base/plugins/com.genuitec.myeclipse.product85

    Also, please refer to the following post for further reference –

    Let me know if that helps

    Still not working. No splash window. I also looked at the other thread you suggested, and everything appears to be in order.

    Here is my config.ini after making the change you suggested:

    mdmaurer,
    Can you give some more information?
    1. Can you copy paste your installation details from MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details?
    2. Are there any relevant errors logged in the log file located at workspace dir > .metadata > .log? Please clear the log file, save it and then start the IDE to get the relevant errors.
    Can you try using the -clean as mentioned int the link below –
    https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/troubleshoot-using-the-clean-command-line-argument/
    Let me know if that helps.

    2. Here is something interesting in the .log. Where did the slashes in the file path go?:

    !ENTRY org.eclipse.ui 4 0 2010-04-22 09:29:28.958
    !MESSAGE C:Program FilesGenuitecCommonpluginscom.genuitec.myeclipse.product85_8.5.0.me201003250242splash.bmp (The system cannot find the file specified)

    3. Tried starting up with the -clean arg, but didn’t help.

    mdmaurer,
    Thank you for pointing out.
    Looks like the post removes the double “\” and replaces it with a single “\”
    The splash location should contain a double “\” instead of a single “\”
    Please change the location to contain a double “\”. I have attached the lines in a text file.
    Please change accordingly and let me know how that works for you.
    Sorry for the inconvenience
