    Hi,
I’m trying to use the MyEclipse 2017 Spring Starter Project Wizard, but it give me a JSONException when I select it. I saw on the web lots of references about this error and Proxy’s, but I’m not using a Proxy and can access https://spring.io from the MyEclipse browser with no issue. Attached is an image of the error and browser window. Please help.

    Thanks,
    Smitty

    I found the solution.

In Windows/Preferences/Frameworks/Spring/Boot/Initializr the default URL is http://start.spring.io. Change this to https: and it works.

    Thanks,

    Smitty,

The URL is fixed in the newer releases of MyEclipse. Thank you for posting the workaround details in MyEclipse 2017.

I recommend you upgrade to the latest MyEclipse release 2019.12.5 which brings latest Java support, new server connectors and several new features and fixes. You can install MyEclipse 2019.12.5 alongside your existing MyEclipse 2017 installation and give it a try. Your current license is valid for newer releases of MyEclipse as well.

Please let us know if you see any issues with the upgrade.
