I notice that many topics have been opened on the subject of Spring Tutorials. Obviously, I am not the only one pining away in the absence of MyEclipse Spring Tutorials. The response to one of the topics asking about schedule indicated that January 2006 was going to be a good month in this regard, and another response indicated that 4.1 GA would be a Spring Tutorial bonanza. It now being 2/7/2006 and 4.1 GA not including the Spring Tutorials, I’m wondering if MyEclipse management can update our expectations for delivery time-frame for these much desired tutorials.

    We need (among others)

    Spring MVC tutorial.
Adding Spring support for a Struts web application.
Adding Spring support for a stand alone Java Application.
Building a new Struts application with Spring/Hibernate.

    Sincerely,

    JD

Is there any update on the scheduling of the Spring/Hibernate tutorials?

    JD,
The “shortly” I had in my head and the “shortly” management had was a mismatch. There is no timeline set in stone, but I would give these a while. We are maxed out right now getting ready to push 4.1.1 out the door here shortly with over 100 bug fixes and enhancements and in parallel trying to get ready for EclipseCon and all the associated work that goes along with that.

This was my fault, I shouldn’t have said “soon” without clarifying what it mean, I appologize for the misinformation.

    JD,
I just asked our product manager what the status on the Spring Quick Start was, he said that “worst case is it ships with or around 5.0 GA”. I will add a disclaimer that 5.0 is the most important thing right now to get right and get out to you guys. So if the doc does slip, it’s for a reason we couldn’t have avoided.

    Riyad,

    Any updates on Spring tutorial.
Your link still shows a blank document (with a page title “JSF Quickstart”)

I am especially interested in Spring MVC & Web Flow part.
Any integration with SpringIDE ? Is it really necessary with MyEclipse ? Any comparison between the two ?

    Thank you,
    Oleg.
