RogerMemberNow that 8.5 is out, what are the chances of STS integration being there for 9.0? If its not present for 9.0, my current subscription will most probably the last one and will get my development team to use STS instead.
NOTE: We are not prepared to pay $200/y for MyEclipseIDE for Spring. $60/y is high enough already
support-joyMemberrcr1997,
Thank you for your feature request. I will escalate your request to the management. Adding new features is a management decision. I shall get back to you on this.
Best.
Brian FernandesModeratorAs the STS license stands atm, it is not possible for us to ship it with MyEclipse. STS is free, but not open source and redistribution is not permitted.
MyEclipse 8.6 will have increased compatibility with STS though, allowing you to add components of STS that we don’t already ship (i.e. anything other than the open source Spring IDE) to MyEclipse yourself, something which is difficult right now.
To help us prioritize, can you let us know what features in STS you use? What server do you deploy to?
As far as MyEclipse for Spring is concerned, the feature overlap with STS is small, if not non-existent. MyEclipse for Spring really addresses completely different concerns; of course – with 8.6 you should be able to add STS to ME4S too. Here are a few short videos taking you through the current features in ME4S, I know we are several new features in 8.6.
javacopMemberBrian, any update on this ? We use myeclipse but STS has good support for some of the things which can put us on fast track for development.. I would like to use MyEclipse and integrate it with STS but if not possible we will have to give up on it. Please post us details on how we can integrate 8.6 with STS.

Brian FernandesModeratorThanks for asking:
1) Install MyEclipse/MyEclipse for Spring 8.6M1, this includes SIDE 2.3.2.
2) Go to Help > Software and Workspace Center and go to the Software tab.
3) Add the STS stable update site.
4) Expand the update site to find the features you want and from the context menu, select “Add to profile”.As I mentioned earlier, you can install STS features that are not part of MyEclipse. Mostly all SIDE feature that are also on the STS site are already in MyEclipse and attempting to install them will cause conflicts.
Please let me know if you need further clarification. Hope this helps.
christiana.thompsonMemberI realize this thread is a little dated, but for completeness, I wanted to add that we have now released MyEclipse for Spring: STS Edition, which may meet some of the needs you describe above. This means that developers who are currently using SpringSource Tool Suite (STS) to build their Spring apps now have the option of installing the core MyEclipse for Spring capabilities directly into STS as a value-added plug-in.
The STS Edition of MyEclipse for Spring is available for $99/yr.
