    Hello,

just tried to start tomcat from within MyEclipse, after configuring it as required. Got the message “please verify the preference field with the label: Tomcat JDK name”. I was not able to locate such a preference field anywhere.

I also saw a note in the MyEclipse docs stating that it was a common error to specify a JRE instead a JDK. However, no mention where and how that “common error” could be fixed. Looking into the Java preferences, I see an item for “available JREs”, but nothing for JDKs.

oops, I missed the subitems of the tomcat server config.
ASIDE: I think multiple tabs would fit better than the subitems which are only visible in the tree view on the left.

Its also rather confusing that you have to configure the JDK under the “installed JREs” preference item, but I guess that is an issue for another forum/maillist.

    thanks,
    Christian

    Christian,
I think both your observations and suggestions are good ones, we need to clarify this in some manner. I like the tab idea, and the “Installed JREs” is problomatic because we are hooking into the Eclipse mechanism not our own for defining/configuring/using JRE/JDKs in the Eclipse platform.
