If it helps in the slightest, I’ve gotten this information from one of my developers…

Closing all windows before shutting MyEclipse down doesn’t prevent the occurrence of the problem — that’s the only thing we have tried.

We use the Ant and Ivy plugins. We also use the JDT, Junit, and sometimes the visual Javascript editor — they are all built into Eclipse. I can’t think of anything else we use.

AH! We’ve actually had reports of IvyDE locking up the workbench on startup in the past, all the way back to MyEclipse 6.0 users, you can see the thread here:

The user went on to reproduce the behavior in plain Eclipse a few times and confirmed as soon as he removed IvyDE, the lockups stopped. Is there anyone on the team experiencing the lockups frequently enough, and using IvyDE less-often enough to remove it for a few days and see if they stop?
