ErezMemberI am running on WinXP.
I’ve installed MyEclipse 6.0 all-in-one.
After the install a strange thing happendFrom my IE6 explorer, when I tried to upload an image XXXX.JPG (the extension not JPEG) to some site that accepts images. The file was not recognized as file in JPG format.
I uninstalled the MyEclipse6 and everything came back to normal.
I suppose it has something to do with the ImageEditor installation but I really don’t have a clue. Until this is not fixed or explained how to avoid this problem I’m affraid I can’t use the ME6.
Regards,
Erez
Riyad KallaMemberErez,
This is a really strange bug report… we don’t do anything to augment IE6, Windows or any other platform resource. Are you creating the image you are trying to upload using the MyEclipse Image Editor? or are you just saying any JPG (for example, if you right-clicked the banner on this page and did a Save-As to a local JPG, then tried to upload it to the site that is giving you trouble, did it work?)
ErezMemberI have to admit it’s strange.
Actually two things happens:1) The images are Photoshop web-saved-as simple JPG (simple non progressive).
If I upload them to a site that lets upload images the site claims that the image is not of type JPG. After I uninstall ME6, I upload the same file and everything is cool. Weird!2) Using Firefox 2.0 – I rightclick an image in a web page that has a .JPG (not JPEG) extension and select save-as. Before the ME6 – it suggests to save it with the name untouched – good. After the install of ME6, it prefixes the image with a .jpeg extension. For example: “XXX.jpg” ===> “XXX.jpg.jpeg” – strange again. Uninstalling ME6 and everything is back to normal again.

Riyad KallaMemberThis is really weird… let’s see if we can figure this out.
When you install MyEclipse, near the end of the install it asks you if you want to associate the SNAP applications with any of the file extensions… if you uncheck either all of them, or just the image associations, does the problem persist?
ErezMemberOf course I thought about it and I am going to check it if it helps.
I’ll let you know.Erez
ErezMemberThe full all-in-one installation comes by default with all the checkboxes unmarked and so I did install it like this and the strange bug happens.
Installing ME6 as a plugin on to of the Eclipse Europe SDK works fine.

Riyad KallaMemberErez,
If it’s alright can you use the plugin install for now then?I am still scratching my head on this one…
