Struts-config editor’s design view has refresh problem with
connection lines manually drawn.During an edit, the connection lines (not the “forwards”, but the manually
drawn lines and not from the struts-config.xml) would disappear.Upon reopening the struts-config file, the lines are stll there and not lost.
So, that’s not severe. (Actually, this fixes the bug from the previous
version – it was unable to save the connection lines in 3.84)All in all, ME 4.02 seems solid for Struts development.
Thank you, ME Team!
Brian FernandesModeratoryunkipaik,
Well, they shouldn’t disappear either!
I tried to replicate this – but I found the manual lines behaving normally.
What exactly do you mean “during an edit”?Is the “disappearing” reproducable – can you list out a series of steps which I can use to see this?
Thanks for the compliments:) and the support,
Brian.
Scott AndersonParticipantOne other thing to check – are you running Eclipse 3.1 final, or one of the earlier milestone builds?
yunkipaikMemberI am using Eclipse 3.1 final.
In my struts-config.xml, I have about 3 dozen actions and JSPs.
The ME Struts viewer always accurately renders it, showing the forwards as lines. No problem with it.Then, manual connection links are drawn from JSPs to actions by me to document the real workflow.
In the previous version of ME, these maunally drawn links were never saved – (I had reported this bug, and
you confirmed it.)With ME4.0M2 for Eclipse 3.1, these manually drawn links are persisted – (thanks for fixing the bug).
However, during an edit – say, I scroll the viewer – suddenly, these manually added links all disappear. and they never
appear during the session.
Upon closing and re-opening the struts-config.xml, I see them still all there. Nothing’s lost. – heww.
So, this is a refresh problem within the viewer. For now, the workaround is to reopen the config file.
Thanks for lisening, guys, and for prompt reply always. Keep up the good work.
Brian FernandesModeratorI was able to replicate this issue. It does not happen on scrolling afaik, but could happen when you switch to the source view and back to design.
Really strange that these bugs got by (both the persistance issue and now this one). Perhaps it’s a regression, but I’ll look into this asap.
Thanks once again for the report. It also appears that you are our sole “user connections” (that’s what we call them) user 😉
I/we really appreciate your positive attitude towards these issues. If you have any more issues or suggstions, we’d be glad to hear them.
Brian.
