Prasanna TuladharMemberI understand the direction you are moving with the with struts development tool. I do not want to overburden you by requesting some pretty big features (sthg like a HTML editor etc). The struts RAD tool in my eclipse needs following things
1) A clear and good documentation in synchronization with the tool
2) MUST have a drag drop capability in the Flow View and able to dig into the components by double clicking.
3) By right clicking on the components on the Flow View should show its property.
4) A proper ROADMAP as in 2003 (I think most people loved it)I hope that the struts RAD tool you are developing is in the right direction but having said that it lacks several features offered by some other commercial vendors like exadel studio or borland JBuilder.
One more suggestion, why dont MyEclipse takes out the box version (as shown in its webpage) into the market. This would have very deep impact upon developers, will show them that there is a company behind it. Especially here in Germany I think it is important since some vendors are already taking such products out which are far below the products which MyEclipse offers.
Perhaps I could work as distributor of your product 😉
Riyad KallaMemberThese are some very good suggestions, I’ll send them to the internal team and see what they think. Keep the good feedback comming!
Also I believe the roadmap and such will get updated after EclipseCon is over and the team can get a few good nights of rest 😉
support-michaelKeymasterGreat feedback. You nailed the same concerns we have regarding the struts RAD capabilities. We are moving in the direction of a much more interactive Flow View and we are well aware of the doc problem (they are either N/A or stink). I kicked your ideas with the boxed version of ME suggestion highlighted to the management team. They have been discussing this for sometime and believe MyEclipse is rapidly approaching an industry position where this make real sense.
Please keep the constructive feedback coming.
