    Hi All,

I am trying to install subclipse version 1.2.3 to my eclipse installation and have been unsuccessful.

I have installed the following on my new MacBookPro

    eclipse : 3.3.0v20070612
    MyEclipse : 5.5.1 GA

I then downloaded the subclipse 1.2.3 site and tried to install with the eclipse menu options Help > Software Updates > Find and Install. I then used the New Archive Site option and pointed it at my downloaded subclipse site-1.2.3.zip file and after selecting the options I just get “Current configuration proplems in the update window Search Results area.

Looking at the details for the error I get errors such as:

    ------ Current configuration problems -------
WST XML Core (1.5.4.zmyeclipse55020070514) requires feature "org.eclipse.rcp (3.2.0)", or equaivalent.
    ...
JST Common Core (1.5.3.zmyeclipse55020070514) requires feature "org.eclipse.platform (3.2.0)", or equaivalent.
-------- Configuratrion problems after the operation ----------------------
WST XML Core (1.5.4.zmyeclipse55020070514) requires feature "org.eclipse.rcp (3.2.0)", or equaivalent.
    ...
JST Common Core (1.5.3.zmyeclipse55020070514) requires feature "org.eclipse.platform (3.2.0)", or equaivalent.
Subclipse integration for MyLyn (Optional) requires plug-in "org.eclipse.mylyn.team.ui".

So whats going on. I thought that subclipse could be installed with eclipse 3.2 or better and 3.3 is definately better ?????

Any suggestions here (without suggestions to install eclipse 3.2.x instead of 3.3.x would be helpful)

    Regards

    Steve

I used MyEclipse 5.5 and Eclipse 3.2.2 and Subclipse without a problem together.

I also seem to have no problem with Eclipse 3.3 and MyEclipse 6.0m1 and the latest Subclipse.

However, MyEclipse 5.5 is for Eclipse 3.2. So if you want to use Eclipse 3.3 then upgrade to MyEclipse 6.0m1.

    Just my 2 cents.

    BR,

    Robert

    Thanks Robert.

I couldn’t see the wood for the tres.

I had Eclipse 3.3. configured with ME 5.5 (this seemed to work fine by the way, except for the subclipse plugin)

Upgraded ME to 6.0m1 and now all if fine.
