Where can I find detailed information on setting up support for Sun Java System Application Server 8.2.

Netbeans 5.0 has built in support (…of course); however I’ve had a lot of performance issues that I just don’t have with Eclipse.

I’d try or move to Eclipse/MyEclipse if it has detailed information and strong support for Sun Java System Application Server 8.2 and hopefully Java EE Glassfish support in the future.

    Thank you,

    –Todd

    Todd,
Our application server support is generic in that all the application servers we support function in the same manner. You setup the connector first (under Window > Preferences > MyEclipse > APplication Servers) then you setup the JDK to run the app server, then you setup your deployments to the app server.

This information (using Tomcat and JBoss as examples) is covered in our doc here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/images/tutorials/quickstarts/appservers/

And yes Glassfish support should be forthcomming soon.

Riyad: Thank you. To make sure I understand, I can use Sun Java System Application Server 8.2.

Offhand, does a lot of your customers use Sun Java System Application Server 8.2 or is Tomcat and JBoss the primary application servers utilitized?

    Just wondering…

    Thanks,

    Todd,
Tomcat by far is the most utilized, it offers the easiest out of the box experience for development, same goes for JBoss when EJBs are required.

A handful of users use the Sun App server, but I think that usage will increase signifigantly with Glassfish, it seems to be quite a nice app server.
