    Greetings,
I just installed the latest MyEclipse 6.0GA and noticed that the web services are still using XFire 1.2.
I have looked at the other posts with problems using Spring 2.0 and XFire 1.2, and was wondering if there are plans to update the web service wizards to use CXF and Spring 2.0.x? Is it just too early to adopt CXF?
I know that it is possible to get it all working in the current MyEclipse 6.0 with a bit of work, but it would save us some time if it were already included in the latest version of MyEclipse.

    Thanks,
    Charlie

There are no plans to update the web service wizards to use CXF and Spring 2.0.x. We are going to continue supporting XFire for now.

I guess ill take this as a feature request for this feature.

    Thanks for this post.

We dont have CXF on the cards yet but we are considering Struts 2.0 for the next release.

I too would certainly vote for CXF upgrade. We’re currently migrating our application off of Axis and are going the CXF route. I could understand supporting XFire if it was an active development line, but it appears to be dead so I don’t see why anyone would use MyEclipse web service wizards for new development once they see the CXF recommendation to migrate.

I also vote for upgrading XFire to Apache CXF. Anyone who keeps up with things has surely migrated their apps to CXF, which makes your “Add XFire web service capabilities” pretty much useless.

Im afraid there are no plans to support it at this point in time. I’ll take your request to the management.
