I am glad to see the update to the Phonegap library. Will M2 or later have the ability to use Phonegap plugins?
I really want to use some of these such as the Admob plugin.

    Thanks!

Incorporating user-provided plugins will not be available until 3.0. But we are looking into adding admob support soon.

Great. That will really help in the shorter term.

Can you give us a glimpse on what we have to look forward to in v3?

When you say we’ll be able to incorporate user-provided plugins, will they be “drag and drop” or atleast setting them up visually and supplying information for the required variables?

The big things we’re looking to be able to do are RSS Feeds (doesn’t have to include pictures but that would be a nice bonus), push notifications, a real image gallery (or be able to pull from images on Facebook/SmugMug/etc), incorporate Facebook/Twitter feeds, YouTube video feeds, and have a more customize-able audio/video player (play radio feeds from shoutcast and have an option to display if the feed is active or not).

I’m sure a lot of this is doable with a lot of scripting, but having widgets for some of it would be nice too.

Looking forward to seeing what is available in the next release…you guys are awesome!!

Looking forward to the plugin support. It’ll be the icing on the cake!

Any indication (rough estimate) when v3 is expected?

This is still sometime off in the future. We will soon be releasing info on custom App Center Builder implementations that can implement addition native plugins/features. This will first be made available as part of our MyEclipse ’13 enterprise mobile tools and merged with MobiOne at some point this year.
