mogarickMemberHi,
I’ve just installed MyEclipse 5.5 M1 but i’m getting a blocking problem because of the chaining of 2 dialog windows: Trial suscription message, and another one asking for an Eclipse restart. At the moment i open Eclipse, there are this 2 windows. The first I’m allowed to close is the one asking me for a workbench restar. It says I need to click Ok to restart. Then the one remembering me about my comming end of trial period is just unclickable but neither elements in the workbench respond. It’s the common behavior for an opne pop up dialog, needing to close the dialog in order i can get control on the workbench. The problem is that the open pop up dialog window (the Trial reminder one) can’t be closed because it doesn’t react to clicks!!!!!
I tried with a new Eclipse installation but got the same results. The problem is with the trail dialog. So you may replicate the problem by installing Myeclipse 5.1 trial. Then I don’t know the days needed to get the comming expiration reminder, but when that moment happen disable the 5.1 version or install a fresh eclipse copy and then manual install version 5.5 M1. Bingo, you got a bloking problem same way as me :'(
Please help me!!!!!
Greeting.
Ricardo Montoya
Riyad KallaMemberRicardo,
I’m sorry you are running into this. We became aware of this conflict just recently and have it filed to fix. Can you try restarting and hitting enter really faster to see if you can catch the key event in one of the dialogs to get rid of it before the workbench locks up?
kfreemanMemberThis problem still exists in 5.5M2.
I just used rkalla’s suggestion (whacking away at enter as eclipse started), which eventually worked but left me with a lot of blank lines in the open java file.
kfreemanMemberWell, I can’t get this to work on my machine at home. Is there any other possible work-around so that I can use 5.5M2? Can I edit a config file, or ??? Anything? I’ve tried pounding the enter key a during startup a dozen times, and am tired of killing and restarting to try again…
Riyad KallaMemberkfreeman,
One of the developers looked into this and noticed if you restart using the -clean command line argument, the 2nd dialog asking you to restart won’t popup. Sorry for the trouble.
kfreemanMemberYes, that worked, thanks!
BTW, if I pay for a subscription, will you respond even faster? It was agonizing waiting 3 whole minutes to get an answer 🙂

If you buy a subscription, you join a time-share pool where a support person will come live with you for a week, on their way to the next subscriber’s house.
It helps us cut down on office-space 🙂
