I am trying to import an xmi file to a model, but I do not see anything.

    Steps are:
    1. Created an UMR model named Test
    2. In UML prespective, I tried to import XMI file. Nothing being imported to the model.

I even tried to export as xmi from Myeclipse and saved as “ABC.xmi” file and then tried to import to, let say, “Test2” UMR for other project. It is still nothing showing up.

    Am I missing steps? Thank!

The XMI file doesnt contain any diagrams, it contains elements from various diargams in your UMR. You should be able to see them by selecting package centric mode in the outline view. You can then drag & drop them (elements) into the diagram.

I managed to import the file. I can see something likes “new collaberation” and elements under it.
I drag & drop them into the diagram. I can only see notes only not the other objects.

    Am I missing some step?
The other question is related to other tools (e.g. Rose). If other tools export as xmi file, will Myeclipse capable to import it?
Any limitation on import function (e.g. only import xmi v1.0 format)?

    Thanks!

Are you using an XMI File exported from MyUML or an external one? There isnt a standard across all tools for XMI and so its possible that the XMI you used is not compatible with MyUML.
