    went to Window->Preferences – MyEclipse->Validation and unchecked JavaScript Manual and Build
    cleaned project, refreshed project, still getting “using ++ and — is considered harmful”

    version 5.0.1 GA

    If you upgrade to MyEclipse 5.1 (please use our all-in-one installer from our site) you can use the new validation-exclusion feature and simply mark any problem files as excluded from validation instead of turning off the entire validator.
