I am running MyEclipse 5, milestome 1 on Linux. In version 4.1.1, there use to be a menu item under the MyEclipse context menu that allowed you to remove validation. When I select a directory in the Package explorer and the look in the MyEclipse context menu in MyEclipse 5, I don’t see this menu item any longer. I also can’t find a menu item like this in the top menus.

How do disable XML validation for individual files or directories without turning off validation for the entire project? Or, how can I remove validation from a portion of a project, ie, a directory and all of its subdirectories and files?

    Thanks,
    Keith

    Keith,
The old “trick” to do this was marking the files as “Derived”. We haven’t implemented our final solution to this yet, we realize this isn’t ideal.

The validation errors are occuring with a vendor library that I have imported into my project. Would I need to mark each file in the vendor’s library derived to disable validation in the library?

    Thanks for your help.

    Keith,
You should be able to mark the containing folder as derived then clean the project. I am pushing for us to get a more official flag in there for handling this. Management is ameanable, we just need to find the right time/resources to do it. I think soon. Sorry for the inconvenience in the interm.
