In a clean Eclipse install, go to Window > Preferences > General > Appearance and uncheck ‘Enable theming’. Apply the changes and restart the IDE.
Ensure the ‘Enable theming’ is turned off on restart and then install Darkest Dark plugin from marketplace and restart the IDE.
Try opening the Preferences and the below error is logged and the preferences page is not opened :
