G’day guys,
Just thought I’d make mention the frustrations I’m having with the way the pages are handled in the UML2 editor.
I get frustrated with the way the page / drawing area is a fixed size, and the only way to change it is to go into the graphics properties and then change the size to a larger paper size. (this property in itself is hidden away and took me some time to find it)
The UML1 editor handles this much better where the drawing surface appears to be unconstrained. I can see the reasoning behind constraining the size to a standard page size for printing, so diagrams don’t get split across printed pages.
I feel a better way would be to handle the drawing surface much like DIA (the OSS Visio equivalent), where the drawing surface is unconstrained, but it has the print page size overlayed in a grid so you can get an idea of where to lay out your diagram so important things won’t get split across pages, but the total drawing is unconstrained.
Regards,
Stephen…
