I’ve just started playing with Reports from MyEclipse 7 and ran into the following issue. I get the following error when attempting to Preview a report from within the IDE:

HTTP Error: 500

Plug-In “org.eclipse.birt.report.viewer” was unable to instantiate class “org.eclipse.birt.report.servlet.ViewerServlet”

I’m running on Red Hat WS4 64bit, but am running a 32bit install of Eclipse/MyEclipse under Java 6. Is this a configuration/install issue?

This could be a configuration issue since you installed MyEclipse on a 64 bit OS using a 32 bit OS installer. I would suggest you setup ME using the 64 bit Linux installer and test the reports again. Let me know if the problem persists.

Thanks for the suggestion – but for some reason when I started up eclipse today the Report Preview worked???
So long as its working I’ll stop asking questions.
