Hi,
Recently while installing 6.5, in the middle of the installation my pc crashed. I could not uninstall or install a new one, I am really struck, I tried uninstalling, it just come s immediately with a screen successfully uninstalled. I tried deleting the whole folder (backed up the folder too). Still no luck, when I try to install thinking I can overwrite the existing installation, no luck, it says MEB is already installed please uninstall first. I am really thinking that my registry is holding me on this.
Please help!
-TnxDoes installing to a brand new location help? Incase it does, this could be a registry issue. You will have to clean you your registry I guess.

Infact it doesn’t even go that far where I have an option to change the install location, the moment I launch the installer, it says, it’s already installed, please uninstall. Searching the forum , I did see that someone sayin, myeclipse does not manipulate registry, but that being 2005 post, I guess these days, myeclipse must be very well doing the registry updates.
I did a system restore, it said it did a restore successfully, but still the installer is saying it’s installed. and the uninstaller rt away launches uninstall successfully.So how can I clean the registry? what to look for and what to delete?

Are you trying to install 6.5 or have you upgraded to MyEclipse 7.0? You should be able to setup MyEclipse 7.0 without issues.I would like to install 6.5. We are not ready yet for 7.0.
If you have any script that does the complete uninstall, that would be great. Or let me know what to delete from the windows registry pls.sphere41,
I just checked with the dev team and it seems like the installer actually only checks for the existence of an existing directory, it doesn’t use the registry at all. So incase you have deleted the directory, you should not have nay problems.Can you try installing to a new location. Does that work?
Nipun, as I mentioned, I don’t get to that far where I can give new location. The moment I launch the installer, It says it’s already installed, even though I have removed the folder. Let me clean up the registry for the occurrences of MyEclipse and let you know what happened.
