In the Access Policy, under the tab “packaging”, there is an alternative “Installation Settings”, I think its a bit unclear how this should be used.

The text says “Configure settings for the installer to control behavior as well as default values presented to your users”, which to me sounds like its asking for a perhaps an installer config file to define default values in the installer. But the manual says “Specify a shortcut path if you would like installers to group software shortcuts so they are found in a common location on the Windows Start menu” which sounds like it just wants the startmenu path.

Would be nice with a clarifying example.

    Hello Fredik.

If you take a look at the documentation specifically here on the number 8 you will get more details about it.
Basically that policy is to specify the path of the shortcut we drop when we install the package, this shortcut is found in the programs menu on windows. So for instance you could set that value to be “Genuitec/Dev IDEs” thus all the packages using that access policy on windows will be found on: Start -> All Programs -> Genuitec -> Dev Ides

    Best Regards.
