To help me understand you env from the error data it appears you are installing into a virtual machine and referencing shared folders. If this is correct:

    0) what version of vmware, host OS and hardware are you running?

    1) are you running the installer from a shared folder?
    2) are you installing mobione into a shared folder?

If you answered yes to either #1 or #2, as an experiment to help us isolate if this is a problem with the installer reading data across the vmware shared file system or something else can you try copying the installer exe to your VM file system and running it and installing in a VM non-shared folder?

I’ll run some experiments on my side using VMs as well.

    Thanks for quick reply.
It is true I was tryingot install mobioneon VM having win7. The original OS is a MAC with leopard 10.x

However the answer to either of your question is “No”. I was not trying to install into or through shared folder.
Again, on trying to install on windows m/c having vista, I received similar error.

I just talked to our installer builder and there is an update that we believe fixes this very problem. I’m not sure how quickly we can get a new installer built but am looking into it today. I’ll provide a timeline for resolution later today or at least an updated resolution status.

The following link is to a completely new installer that we are upgrading to in milestone-10 to resolve some of the recent problems users have been experiencing with the 1.0M9 installers. Please give it a try and let me know if it resolves your problem.

    http://genuitec.com/mobile/mobione/dev/MobiOne_1.0M10-Dev-20101004_Installer.exe
    135Mb

Note: this is an experimental installer. Do not use it if you are not experiencing installation problems.
