Just updated from v 7.0 to 7.1. The update popup window was there showing the update happening but there is no option to “run in background” so I could not return control to the main IDE window and continue working.
Eventually, as the update was taking so long and I needed to get on with some work, I chose the only option open to me which was to click on the red “X” in the top right hand corner of the popup to close/cancel the update window, thinking it would cancel the update too. However, to my surprise this just closes the update popup leaving the actual update happening in the background.
This is pretty non-intuitive design if you ask me. I don’t think I would be alone in thinking that clicking the red “X” in the top right hand corner of a window usually means cancel what is happening and close the window.
