G’day,

I’ve just run a “Help | Software Updates | New Updates” in the hope of upgrading to 2.7 GA, but the search didn’t find any results.

I tried to hit the update site URL (http://www.myeclipseide.com/products/eworkbench/updates/) directly but I’m getting a 403 (forbidden) status code.

Is some form of authentication required, or is the update site not available at the moment?

The problem is one of simple configuration of the Install / Update manager. If you navigate to Window > Preferences > Install/Update, you’ll see a setting for ‘Valid Updates’. You need to set this to ‘compatible’ in order to see 2.7.0 GA since it’s a minor update over 2.6 and the RC builds. Once you do that then research, you’ll be able to see the update correctly in the Install/Updates perspectives Preview view.

No problem at all. You weren’t the only one with this question, just the first given your advantagous timezone for a company that posts new releases in the middle of the night, US CST. 😉
