We have multiple Macs in the office and so far everyone of them that has tried to update from CI14 to CI15 have corrupted the installation or just sat and did nothing for over 2 hours. Windows machines are updating properly. Is there a known work around besides re-installing?

One user installed CI13 and upgraded to CI15 without issue.

    Richard,

Apologies for this. We’re looking into the cause of this but, in the meantime, you should be able to work around it by downloading the full installer and running it in repair mode. When running the installer, you will be offered the option of repairing the installation – click that option.

Please let us know if this solves the issue.

    Richard,

I should add that using the installer to repair the corrupt updated installation could remove some added software, so you may need to re-add any extra plug-ins that you installed.

    Sorry for any inconvenience.

After further investigation, we’ve seen that the in-product update results in a corrupted Info.plist file, rather than a corrupted MyEclipse executable. The resultant Info.plist file has every element duplicated, so it is quite easy to fix, if you haven’t already repaired the install via the CI 15 installer, or by re-installing.

The Info.plist file is found by right clicking on the MyEclipse app, in the installation folder, and selecting “Show package contents”. Now open the Contents folder and edit the Info.plist file, removing all duplicate lines. Save the edits and the MyEclipse application can now be run.
