Carlos S. ZamudioParticipantHi,
I too ran into a problem with the upgrade from 7.1 to 7.1.1. I had been using 7.1 all day and when I relaunched I got the prompt that there was a new version (7.1.1) to be installed. I went ahead and installed it and got the following error:
“The Myeclipse executable launcher was unable to locate its companion shared library.”
Up to this point II have been doing all of my configurations within the MyEclipe IDE, adding components, etc.
I’m running on Windows XP 64-bit and I had installed MyEclipse into the directory C:\mye.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Loyal WaterMemberCarlos,
Can you open the pulse explorer and delete the plugins that you have showing up under personal software’s. Now right click on the MyEclipse profile and select Reinstall and Run. Does that fix the issue?
Carlos S. ZamudioParticipantHi.
I did try this and this did not help. I could not wait so I uninstalled everything and did a fresh install of 7.1. Strange, but I was getting all other updates correctly up until the 7.1.1 update, so I’m guessing there’s something special about this update from a configuration standpoint.
This time I did the installation from within Pulse directly.
Commentary/feedback:
I had avoided using Pulse when at all possible, since I (still) don’t really understand why I need it. It turns out that perhaps my original problem stems from my original installation of 7.0 from the distribution site (I didn’t use Pulse to install). Rather than use the default installation directory I chose a different one. I believe somehow Pulse got installed in a default directory different from where I put 7.0. So, perhaps the location of my Profile got lost somehow during the 7.1.1 update.
Pulse appears to introduce a second way of configuring MyEclipse. One way is inside MyEclipse, another way is outside via Pulse. This doesn’t feel right, and why i chose to avoid it. However, after this experience I plan to use Pulse as my configuration tool and try to avoid any configuration issues in the future (all the configuration help postings seem to focus on Pulse advice).
To me, the Pulse application still appears buggy. The window flashes during update and does not always redraw properly (requiring a restart). It’s also slower to update (with no feedback on what it’s doing) than I would expect from a key product. Pulse could benefit from some effort to improve it’s quality.
Loyal WaterMemberWe appreciate you taking time out to post us this feedback. Pulse is currently on a 6 week development cycle and we are working on improving the performance of pulse.
