DragonManMemberHi,
I wanted to start using Java 1.7 and, having seen some MyEclipse forum topics I worked out that I needed to upgrade from 10.0 version of MyEclipse Blue IDE. On the Dashboard it showed an update to MyEclipse Blue 10.6 so I clicked it and all appeared to install OK.
When I added a JDK 1.7 compiler and tried to set the compliance level, the numbers only went up to 1.6 in the drop down. After further reading on the forums it seems I need to have Eclipse 3.7.2 yet the software tab on MyEclipse configuration centre shows Eclipse Base as 3.7.0 and I cannot see an option to upgrade it further.
Help please!
Also I note that it installed 10.6 in the “Program Files\Genuitec\MyEclipse 10.0 Blue” folder. Shouldn’t it have kept the new version in it’s own folder?
Thank You ………………. Jim
support-swapnaModeratorJim,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue. The folder name will be MyEclipse 10, the version will be 10.6.
The issue you are seeing with Eclipse base version might be due to an incomplete or corrupt install.
1. Can you switch to MyEclipse Configuration Center > Software and check if you see the version for MyEclipse Enterprise WorkBench as 10.6 under My Software section ?
2. Can you reinstall the MyEclipse 10.6 as a quick fix ? You can download ME Blue 10.6 from this link and install it to a different location alongside your previous install.
https://www.myeclipseide.com/index.php?name=Recommend_Us&req=Download&version=MEBlueAlternatively you can use Pulse to reinstall the MEB 10.6. Here are the steps :
1. Download and install Pulse from http://www.poweredbypulse.com (go to the downloads page and select “Your Eclipse IDE Management”).
2.Open the Pulse explorer, right click on your MyEclipse Blue 10.6 profile under My Profiles section, select ‘Reinstall then Run’ to fix any issues with incomplete installation.
Let us know how it works for you.
DragonManMemberHi Swapna,
In the configuration centre I see MyEclipse Blue Edition as 10.6.0, as are all the MyEclipse software components in the list. Eclipse Base shows as 3.7.0. I do not see MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench listed.
From what you say, I think the best option for me is to do a clean install by downloading the latest version of the installer.
Thank you for you quick response.
Cheers
Jim
