We are trying to use JProfiler with MyEclipse/JBoss. JProfiler requires a run configuration (such as JBoss-IDE) to hook into JBoss in debug mode. Is there anyway of getting JProfiler to work under MyEclipse? We are trying to run a profile on a MyEclipse project and test for bottlenecks, CPU usage, and class efficiency.

That’s a really good question and I must admit I don’t know the answer. We manage our launch configurations internally for ease of use. Is there a way to attach JProfiler once the remote process is launched?

Not that I can see. Of course, we can always profile the application outside Eclipse by using JProfiler standalone. Our Utopian IDE, however, is to have all the tools of MyEclipse and a decent profiler without having to shut things down and start them up somewhere else. We are so nearly there.
