FinchMemberHello support,
as far as I see, I can only configure ONE Tomcat-server?
I have two projects (at least *g*) – one of them requires Tomcat 5.5, the other one currently still requires Tomcat 5.0.
How can I use both “at the same time”? Of course I can change the (global…) configuration forth and back all the time, but that’s annoying AND I also get error messages about “undeployment failed” (well, yes, of course…).
Yes, this is one way of doing it, but it’s not nice.
In addition to that actual problem, I can imagine a setup where I have more than one Tomcat installation for different projects.
How can this be done (nicely)?
Shouldn’t there be a way of “adding” an “application server deployment definition” …?
(this is MyEclipse 3.8.4 but probably the same for all versions)Am I missing something easy?
Thanks for your help,
Finch

Correct, this obvious shortcomming will be fixed in our 5.0 release later this year.

Not currently.

Yes you are absolutely right, there should, and there will be. The current application server model is a hold over from the first release of MyEclipse, we will be making some improvements to the fundamental layout of the IDE in our 5.0 release but the remainder of the 4.x series will likely be bug fixes and tool enhancements.

Just to make sure: Are your release numbers correct or “one off”? I mean… a fix in 4.0 would be ok, but 5.0?? I can’t even find it on any of your roadmaps yet… and it looks like even 4.2 GA will be early 2006?
OTOH, I have now installed 4.0 M2 and don’t see any change 🙁This is a somewhat serious limitation, I currently have 2 Eclipses installed 🙁
An “improvement to the fundamental layout” will obviously take some time, but at least you should have two entries for Tomcat 5.0 / 5.5 asap… (your current “Tomcat 5” works fine for both, so that shouldn’t be much of a change…)
Riyad KallaMemberI’m asking if we have the resources to add a “Tomcat 5.5” connector sooner than later, I’ll post any information I get.
