Using ME 6.0.1 GA, Eclipse 3.3.1.1 running in jdk1.5.0_14 on Win 2000 4

We need to deploy 2 web service projects, one to a Tomcat 5 & weblogic 8.1 (sp3) – both run in 1.4 Jdks

We’d like to use xFire as supplied as part of ME but we’re a bit unsure whether this will cause us problems – we’ve gone through your http://www.myeclipseide.com/documentation/quickstarts/webservices/ tutorial which seems to work ok but at the top states “Java 5 compatibility (requires your Java project compiler compatibility to be set for Java5 or greater)” – ours is obviously set to 1.4!

Have you any idea if this is likely to cause problems? should we abandon xFire & use another? – any recommendations?

thanks in advance – I hope I’ve explained it well enough!

You cannot use XFire with JDK 1.4. You will have to consider other options if you want to stick to JDK 1.4.
