Are there any exceptions in the Eclipse log file?– Message Body ——————————-
Upon resart of MyEclipse I loose all previous entries of proxy server
and port, so at every restart it complains about the internet connection,
until I reenter the info and hit apply and Ok, but it will not stick.
Richard FisherMemberOh – There are 8 files starting with org.eclipse.pde in the eclipse(3) plugin directory.
Riyad KallaMemberTwo things:
1) You aren’t running the final release of Eclipse 3.0, you may want to reinstall and be sure to use that
2) You don’t have the 3 quick fixes applied to your MyEclipse install, this may also fix the issue as I know we fixed a persistence issue with the validators as wellPlease try those two things first and let us know how it goes.
Richard FisherMemberTo clarify:
The version says 3.8.1 + QF20040825, does that still need more quick fixes applied?
And, what is the best way to maintain all my project settings if I reinstall Eclipse3.0?Regards
Riyad KallaMember3.8.1 + QF20040825
Thank you for the clarification, THIS is the right version, no more quick fixes needed.
And, what is the best way to maintain all my project settings if I reinstall Eclipse3.0?
All your settings are saved in your workspace, so you can download Eclipse 3.0 GA, unzip it in paralell to your install and load it up, specifying the same workspace and you might need to add the MyEclipse extension manually via the Help > Soft Updates > Manage Configs > (right click) > “add…” and point at the ME dir. Once this setup si working, you can erase your old Eclipse 3 dir.
I am also unable to reproduce the loss of proxy settings, so I hope an update should fix that.
Richard FisherMemberDone.
The other fix needed was to make sure that the CVS proxy was set also and then it seemed to stick for me.
Please close the issue, and thanks.
Riyad KallaMemberThank you for following up with us.
