I just updated MyEclipse using the Software Updates feature in Eclipse, going from 5.0 GA to 5.0.1. My version information does not show 5.0.1, nor has the Build ID changed. Will these not change with this update?

They should have, this was a packaging bug on our end. You can see the real version in Help > About > [MyEclipse Icon], you will see a few plugins with the 5.0.1 version in there.
