After installing myeclipse on to 3.4 of eclipse. Eclipse will not start. I understand now that mye not yet compatible. I removed it Now, even though I am starting with “eclipse -vm C:\Sun\SDK\jdk\jre\bin\java ” It tells me that I have 1.4 installed.
I do have 1.4 installed but this has always worked. I have changed java_home and no matter what only 1.4 is visible on my machine. Can anyone help? Thank You

MyEclipse 7.0M2 is compatible with Eclipse 3.4. What version of MyEclipse are you working with?

Now, even though I am starting with “eclipse -vm C:\Sun\SDK\jdk\jre\bin\java ” It tells me that I have 1.4 installed.

Eclipse is not running with 1.4? Can you paste the error here for me.

I downloaded this trial version MyEclipse_5.5.1GA_E3.2.2_Installer.exe. I had always started up eclipse giving it the version of java. After this installation eclipse would not start up. When I started up from the command line it tells me I need at least version 1.4. Even though I am pointing to this later version, 1.6
My java_home envirtonment variable did say 1.4 but this always worked. I removed all env var and path references to 1.4 but it only sees 1.4.
Searchin around I think it has something to do with the registry, which I see has software keys to a few 1.4 versions. ALso I seen something regarding the java.exe that is in windows system32. But this is something that only happened after I installed MY E. ANy help greatly appreciated

Can you right click on the MyEclipse shortcut and go to Properties. Does the vm argument point to JDK 1.6 ?

Also, what jdk is the vm argument pointing to in your eclipse.ini file?
