I have had MyEclipse Pro 4.1.1GA installed and working with 3.1.1 eclipse for some time under Vista Business. I just installed 5.5.GA on the same machine for evaluation purposes, and when I tried to run got the log error indicating the license is running on too many IP addresses.

Next I disabled the wireless NIC and ran again (this time, “as Administrator”, even though my user account has admin authority). That worked. And it still worked after re-enabling the wireless NIC.

It appears the initial IP address issue was a result of the cascade of other errors caused by initially not running as Administrator. So, it turns out I don’t have a problem after all.

    Lessons learned (for others’ benefit):
    * under Vista, having admin authority is not the same as being “Administrator”,
    * multiple NICs should be fine,
    * all your Pro features should be available without getting a new license,
    * 3.1.1 with 4.1.1GA will still work, in fact you can run them concurrently (cool!)
