How do I turn this feature on? I had to use the Beta Site to install ME because I couldn’t do it on XP or NT the normal way because when the eclipse start it would continually loop the start up. Had a heck of a time killing the process. I just want to know how to turn it on and if I may have missed something when I installed via the update site.

    I’m sure it’s something basic.

    Thanks

    Doyle,
Installing from the update site is the right thing to do, so you are OK there. As far as ‘turning on’ the designer, just open up a HTML page, and notice that down at the bottom of the editor window there are 3 tabs: Source, Preview and Visual Designer.

I wasn’t sure if you were asking about how to stop the Eclipse cycling, were you asking about that or did you get that taken care of?

I solved this by uninstalling ME and then installing from the update.

Thanks about the HTML only tip ! Here I was with jsp’s trying to find the designer. Is there away to set this to do jsp’s ? Thanks

You will want to open your JSP pages with the “MyEclipse HTML Editor” when you want to use the visual editor, but keep in mind that you will be missing JSP editing capabilities until you close and reopen the file with the “MyEclipse JSP Editor”.

In the future we are moving towards a more integrated “Web Editor” style, but right now they are broken apart like this.

You forgot the ;-), because I doubt there’s much of a market for a $30 product that requires a $400 product as a prerequisite. 🙂
