cgageMemberGreetings,
I need to install the eclipse ve (visual editor 1.2.1) plugin in which is unfortunately a prerequisite to an installation of another plugin from ESRI. I am using the MyEclipse 5.1.1 “all-in-one” installation.
When I try to install the ve plugin, I get a duplicate conflicts warning on the Java EMF Model saying that parts of the product may be unusable.
I was wondering if I should have installed Eclipse first, then the ve and ESRI plugins, followed by MyEclipse 5.1.1?
Is this the right approach or is the ve plugin incompatible with the MyEclipse 5.1.1 installation? Thanks in advance,
Charlie
cgageMemberI should have mentioned in the previous post that the ve and ESRI plugins installed correctly in the MyEclipse 5.1.0 installation.
Thanks,
Charlie
Scott AndersonParticipantCharlie,
The issue is likely a warning that we ship the latest version of EMF and VE specifies a prior build. However, EMF changes are very slight between the releases so I’d suggest ignoring the warning and continuing with the installation. You should be fine.
Riyad KallaMemberCharlie,
It’s always a good idea to start with MyEclipse first because it’s the biggest, so it will have the most common footprint. What is the version mis-match with JEM? It sounds like VE requires an older version and we shipped a newer version…. but I don’t think we updated any libs for the 5.1.0 -> 5.1.1 transition… is it complaining about a mismatch, or just a duplicate?
cgageMemberRiyad,
The message I got was a “Duplicate Conflicts” message which was in the Jave EMF Model:
Version 1.2.1.v20060815_M—-6zXJJzKIRGVU in /C:/Program Files/MyEclipse 5.1.1 GA/eclipse/
Version 1.2.3.v20070130_R—-6zXJK-L2U8VZ in /C:/Program Files/MyEclipse 5.1.1 GA/myeclipse/eclipse/So I think it was a duplicate.
Charlie
Riyad KallaMemberCharlie, you might be able to force the install then… if it fails, you can always back out the changes and it if kills your install, just start with the MyEclipse all-in-one to get back up ad running right away again (to a new dir though).
