I was trying to create a basic JSF web application under myEclipse 8.6. Unfortunately I couldn’t open any jsf file by visual JSF designer. Actually I couldn’t open that under 8.5 either. The error msg is:

I tried different work space and got same error. I also tried to restart myEclipse by “myeclipse.exe -clean”, and it doesn’t work either. Could you give me some suggestion? thanks a lot.

Can you download any sample JSF example from MyEclipse > Examples on Demand and open any file using MyEclipse Visula JSF Designer?
Do you still get the same error when opening the files?

Hey shalini, thanks a lot for the reply. Unfortunately I couldn’t open any file with Visula JSF Designer. I tried to open a file downloaded from Examples on Demand, and still got same error

Do you have any third party plugins installed?
Can you try doing a reinstall and run using pulse? The following are the steps –
1. Download pulse from http://www.poweredbypulse.com
2. Open pulse explorer and select “Eclipse Galileo” on the top left corner.
3. Your profile should be listed under “My Profiles”. Select your profile, right click on it and from the context menu select “Re-Install and Run”
Let me know how that works for you.

I do have subclipse and GWT eclipse installed. but don’t know if they causes the issue. I couldn’t wait so I re-install the whole myEclipse…Now it works well. Hopefully it will not run into that error again. Thanks a lot anyway
