loweryrMemberJust going ahead and getting the ball running early…. 😉 😉
Here’s your first “vote” for working on the Visual JSP Designer for Linux, Java 1.5 (hence Eclipse 3.1) since I’ve got about 12 clients that want to be on 1.5 platforms, with JSF front-ends… and the visual JSP designer is one of the key reasons I’ve been watching MyEclipse…I know it’s early since 4.0M1 isn’t out yet, but a windows solution doesn’t really do it for me, since all deployment is on Unix based systems (Solaris/AIX/Linux) and development is done on Linux…. to avoid the DLL mess and virus problems of Windows…
Just thought I’d get this one started so the management team knew it’s a needed and desired set of functionality… 🙂 Don’t want to “pressure” the programmers, just want to make sure management allocates the appropriate time and resources for these features…
Thanks!
fishka17MemberI want to see Visual Page Designer for Linux too

cmcbrienMember+30 votes here too for JSP editor on Linux.
We have 30 licenses that are going pretty much unused since we went to Linux on the development boxes. They probably won’t be renewed if the team doesn’t get the ability to use them on Linux.
I realize the statistics from the ME download server probably show FAR more downloads for the Window’s version. But consider some of that is the fact users of Windows have the rebuild their machines so often due to viruses. 🙂
PaulParticipant+1 for Linux

I can’t quite understand how us not providing a feature that we haven’t even shipped yet on Linux affects the use of MyEclipse on Linux for your current licenses. Can you explain why you can’t use MyEclipse on your current Linux installations?
erickjMemberI want Visual Page Designer for JSP and HTML for Linux with Eclipse 3.1
arnorMemberIt’s the same here.
I test MyEclipse 4.01M with jsf on my linux box… I waste 2 days to learn jsf and MyEclipse jsf support with a poor result.
I hope a better jsf support (visual) integrated perhaps with Hibernate e struts framework.Regards Lorenzo
jchavaMemberXored has an HTML editor widget for eclipse in Linux… they are using SWT and Mozilla, and they can run this component in Linux and Windows… maybe MyEclipse can get the appropiate licences and incorporate it.
