    Hi

I’ve just upgraded to Eclipse 3.1.2 and MyEclipseIDE 4.1.0GA on Windows 2000.

I keep getting this error message when trying to edit any JSP page. Unable to create this part due to an internal error. Reason for the failure: The Visual Web Designer is not supported on the current Browser platform. The MyEclipse ‘Classic’ JSP Editor has been opened instead.

I get two editor tabs; one with the error message, and one with the “classic” JSP editor which is fine for my needs.

Can I fix this error, or at least stop the warning?

    Thanks

    John

    John,
You can stop the warning by right clicking on the JSP file and selecting “Open With > MyEclipse ‘Classic’ Editor” instead of the designer. Additionally you can change the default editor from Window > Prefs > General > Editors > File Associations > *.jsp.

What version of IE are you using? The designer requires version 6. So if you are using 5.5 or 7.0 Beta that would explain why you are getting that failure.
