As your application is based on the phone gap sdk, could you add or make use of this?

It’s a volume control plugin that hooks to the native device volume control, something tat many people could find use of.

Alternatively could you provide a way of users to add this themselves?

Yes, we have such a capability planned. I can’t say when it will be available as there are many aspects that have to be thought through that make such a capability very challenging to develop and support.
