Richard GordonMemberOne thing I don’t like to do is to add in other third party plugins in case it somehow effects myeclipseide in a negative way
With this in mind would you consider adding in the Microsoft Visual SourceSafe plugin (http://vssplugin.sourceforge.net) to your release.
Thanks,
Richard

Richard these types of things are really out of the scope of MyEclipse. While I would never say that we “definately won’t” do something, source control plugins are really something for the core (Eclipse) IDE to take care of.

It is good that you are careful to keep your environment stable, but you are always safe to try out a plugin and if you find any conflicts, roll it back. MyEclipse is installed in a self-contained fashion via the Eclipse links system, so you don’t need to worry about “poluting” the MyEclipse plugins tree.
I have not tried it, but this http://vssplugin.sourceforge.net/, might be a good place to start for your needs.

I have tried it and it’s a lifesaver when VSS is inflicted on you. Works well and I had no conflicts with MyEclipse at all.
Riyad KallaMemberScott thanks for the update.
Richard let us know if that works for you (it also might be helpful to others in the same position).
Richard GordonMemberMany thanks for testing the vss plugin.
I installed it and linked my projects up with VSS. It was a breeze to setup and install with M8 and integrates very well with the Team facilities in eclipse (although I am just using it as a single user).
You have a great product with MyEclipse and I am looking forward to the new WYSIWYG page editor.

I must admit that I spent most of yesterday testing it and it seems very cool to me. Of course, we’ll be continually working to improve it, but the first set of functionality for HTML editing seems to work great.
